Edit a Microsoft Word syllabus PDF
Most of a syllabus carries over from last term. Update the dates, room, office hours, readings and grading details directly in last term's PDF. If it was made in Microsoft Word, you can edit the PDF itself. Word PDFs edit cleanly: runs, bold and italic are recognised, and justified paragraphs rewrap with even spacing. Calibri, Cambria and Aptos are not open fonts; Calibri and Cambria have open clones with identical widths, and Aptos gets the closest open font only with your permission.
How to do it
- 1.Open the syllabus PDF exported from Microsoft Word in MythosPDF.
- 2.Click the text you want to change and type.
- 3.Press Enter to save, then Export PDF.

How Microsoft Word writes PDFs
- • Save as PDF embeds only the letters used, as subset TrueType fonts.
- • Each run of formatting is written as its own piece of text, and justified paragraphs stretch word gaps.
- • Tables are drawn as lines around positioned text.
Schedule tables
Weekly schedules are tables, so you can edit cells, add weeks and delete rows.
Links to readings
