Typing Hindi
The editor has a built in Hindi keyboard: press the अ/A button while editing and type Hindi letters by clicking, next to your normal keyboard. Characters to check after editing: क्ष, त्र, ज्ञ, श्र.
Which font new Hindi text uses
First the font your PDF already uses for Hindi, even when only a few of its letters are embedded: MythosPDF loads the complete font and sets new letters in it. If the PDF has no Devanagari font at all, it asks before adding an open Noto font for those letters, and tells you it did. Devanagari is a shaped script, so each word is shaped with the full font before it is written, and the real letters are stored so the text stays searchable.
