How Microsoft Outlook prints

  • • A printed email starts with a header block: From, Sent, To and Subject.
  • • Newer Outlook writes in Aptos; older messages use Calibri.
  • • Replies quoted below keep the fonts they were written in.

What that means when you change a version number

  • • Letters you type that already appear in the printout, in the same font, are copied from its own letter shapes, so they print identically.
  • • Digits are recovered like letters, so a changed number keeps the printed digit shapes and spacing.
  • • After export, the recovered text can be selected, copied and searched, which the printout could not do.

What happens to the rest of the page

  • • Update it in the header, footer and cover if it appears in several places.
  • • Compare with the previous version to list the changes.

Questions people ask

+How do I show what changed between versions?

Use Compare to see both versions side by side.

+Why can't I select text in my Microsoft Print to PDF file?

The driver often draws every letter as a shape instead of writing text. MythosPDF reads those shapes and turns them back into real text before you edit.

+Is it better to reprint from Microsoft Outlook?

If you still have the Microsoft Outlook file and a lot to change, yes. For a quick fix to the PDF you already have, editing it is faster.
