Make text bold in printed Arial Narrow text

Turn words bold, or bold text back to regular, in the PDF's own font family. In a Microsoft Print to PDF file, Arial Narrow letters are often drawn shapes. MythosPDF turns them back into Arial Narrow text before you edit.

How to do it

  1. 1.Drop your Microsoft Print to PDF file into MythosPDF. Drawn letters are turned back into text in a few seconds.
  2. 2.Select the words and press B or ⌘B.
  3. 3.Press Enter to save the line, then Export PDF.

New letters in Arial Narrow

  • • Letters that are already on the page are reused exactly as printed, in the printout's own shapes.
  • • Arial Narrow is not an open font. For a letter the printout never used, MythosPDF asks before using the closest open font and tells you which one.

What that means when you make text bold

  • • Bold uses the printout's own bold letters when the page has them; otherwise MythosPDF asks before imitating bold.
  • • After export, the recovered text can be selected, copied and searched, which the printout could not do.

Questions people ask

+Is the bold the real font?

Yes, when the family has a bold style. Otherwise you choose whether to imitate it.

+Will the page look different after recovery?

No. The rebuilt text uses the document's own letter outlines, and every page is compared with the original before you edit.
