How to do it

  1. 1.Drop your scanned PDF into MythosPDF. The words on each page become clickable boxes.
  2. 2.Click the first word, Shift+click to extend along the line, then double click or press Enter and type the new text.
  3. 3.Press Enter to apply the change, then Export PDF.

Hidden OCR text layer

  • • Scans with an invisible text layer, such as Adobe Scan files, are still treated as scans.
  • • The hidden text is updated for the words you change, so search finds the new text.

Questions people ask

+Is it searchable afterwards?

If the scan has a hidden text layer, it is updated with the new number.

+What if a word cannot be changed invisibly?

You get the exact reason, such as a stamp in the way or a font that could not be identified, instead of a smudged page.
