How to do it

1.Open mythospdf.com in Safari and pick the PDF from Files, or drag it in from another app in Split View.
2.Click the first word, Shift+click to extend along the line, then double click or press Enter and type the new text.
3.Press Enter to apply the change, then Export PDF.

• Words are found from the ink on the page with OCR, not from a scanner's hidden text layer, which often drifts.
• The font of the line is identified from the letter shapes, together with size, stroke weight and slant of the photo.
• Only the pixels of the words you change are redrawn, in the page's own ink tone, with the surrounding paper grain kept.
• The rest of the page image stays byte for byte the same, and any hidden OCR layer is updated so search finds the new words.
• Each edit is read back by OCR and checked for ghosts of the old ink before you see it.

• Changes replace words within one line. A longer replacement moves the rest of that line along; adding new lines or deleting words is not available on scans.
• Handwriting, and print in a font that cannot be identified, cannot be redrawn, so the edit is refused.
• If the new text would touch a stamp, signature or line, MythosPDF refuses instead of smudging it.
• Text is read in English, so other scripts are not editable on scans yet.

+Do I need to convert the scan to Word first?

No. MythosPDF edits the scanned page itself. There is no conversion, so the page keeps its look.

+What if a word cannot be changed invisibly?

You get the exact reason, such as a stamp in the way or a font that could not be identified, instead of a smudged page.
