How GNOME Document Scanner scans

  • • Scanning software saves the scanner's page images into a PDF, sometimes with an OCR text layer.
  • • Resolution and colour mode are whatever you chose in the scan settings.
  • • Scans at 300 dpi in grayscale or colour give the best results; hidden OCR layers are detected and updated.

Questions people ask

+Why does search find nothing now?

A scan is a picture of text. OCR adds the words as invisible text so search can find them.

+Do I need to convert the scan to Word first?

No. MythosPDF edits the scanned page itself. There is no conversion, so the page keeps its look.
