Change a word in a DocuSign PDF
Swap one word for another straight in the PDF, in the same font, size and colour as the words around it. This works on the PDF DocuSign exported, so you do not need the original file.

How DocuSign writes PDFs
- • Completed envelopes carry signatures and a certificate.
- • Editing a completed envelope breaks its validity.
What that means when you change a word
- • Edit agreements before they are sent for signature. A completed, signed envelope should not be edited.
What happens to the rest of the page
- • A longer word can push the rest of the line along or wrap it onto the next line, just as a word processor would.
- • Words in bold or underlined keep that style when you retype them.
Questions people ask
+Can I replace the same word everywhere?
Edit each place where it appears. Each edit keeps its own line's layout.
+Is it better to edit in DocuSign?
If you have the original DocuSign file and a lot to change, yes. For quick changes to the PDF itself, editing the PDF is faster and keeps it exactly as sent.
