How to do it

How Adobe Illustrator writes PDFs
- • Text may be live text or outlines.
- • Artwork is layered around the text.
What that means when you change a name
- • Live text can be edited; text converted to outlines is drawing, not text, and cannot be edited.
- • Adobe Illustrator often uses fonts that are not freely available. Letters already in the PDF are reused exactly; for a letter it never used, MythosPDF asks before using the closest open font and tells you which one.
What happens to the rest of the page
- • A longer name pushes the words after it along the line; right aligned names grow to the left.
- • Names often contain letters the PDF has not used yet, like Z, Q or accented letters. The complete font is loaded for them.
