Edit an Apple Pages thesis PDF
A thesis goes through several final touches: a typo found at the last minute, numbering that must start after the front matter, a signed approval page to insert and a repository file size limit. If it was made in Apple Pages, you can edit the PDF itself. MythosPDF decodes custom character codes through the font's own text map and handles spaces written as positioning. Apple system fonts are not open, so new letters use what the PDF contains, or a close open font with your permission.
How to do it
- 1.Open the thesis PDF exported from Apple Pages in MythosPDF.
- 2.Click the text you want to change and type.
- 3.Press Enter to save, then Export PDF.
What people change in a thesis
- • Typos and small corrections
- • Page numbers from the first chapter
- • Signed approval page
- • File size for the repository
How Apple Pages writes PDFs
- • Export uses the macOS PDF engine with subset fonts.
- • Some subsets use custom character codes described only by their text map.
- • Word spaces are sometimes positioning rather than space characters.
Insert the signed page
Scan the signed approval page, merge it in, and drag it into place with Organize PDF.
Numbering
Add page numbers starting from the page where chapter one begins, with the first number you need.
