Edit a macOS Preview and Print quotation PDF
Quotes change during a conversation. Update your own quotation PDF in place so it keeps your branding and layout, instead of retyping it. If it was made in macOS Preview and Print, you can edit the PDF itself. Letters already embedded are reused; for new letters in Apple fonts, you choose whether to use a close open font.
How to do it
- 1.Open the quotation PDF exported from macOS Preview and Print in MythosPDF.
- 2.Click the text you want to change and type.
- 3.Press Enter to save, then Export PDF.
What people change in a quotation
- • Quote number and date
- • Line item descriptions
- • Quantities and unit prices
- • Subtotal, tax and total
- • Validity period and terms
How macOS Preview and Print writes PDFs
- • Uses the macOS PDF engine with subset fonts.
- • Fonts are often Apple system fonts.
Add and remove line items
Insert a row above or below any item, or delete an item's row. Borders and spacing follow the rest of the table.
Numbers are not recalculated
A PDF is a printed page, not a spreadsheet. Update the totals yourself after changing quantities or prices.
Questions people ask
+Can I turn a quotation into an invoice?
You can change the title and number, but check local rules for what an invoice must contain.
+Can I add a discount line?
Yes. Insert a row above the total and type it in.
