How to change a date in a PDF
Dates are the most common thing people need to fix in a PDF: a meeting that moved, a draft that needs today's date, a typo in a year. Because a date is usually short, the edit fits in the space the old one used, so nothing else on the page has to move.
Step by step
- 1Open the PDF in MythosPDF by dropping it on the home page. No account is needed.
- 2Click the date. The line opens for editing in the document's own font.
- 3Select the old date and type the new one, in the same format the document already uses.
- 4Press Enter to save. The new date is set in place with exact glyph widths.
- 5Press Export PDF in the top bar to download the edited file.
Free, in your browser, no sign up and no watermark.

- ✓Keep the format consistent. If the document writes 3 March 2026, don't switch to 03/03/26 in one place.
- ✓Right aligned dates stay right aligned, so a longer month name grows to the left, not over the margin.
- ✓If a date appears in a header or footer on every page, change each one; they are separate text on each page.
Questions people ask
+Why does my new date look different from the old one?
Some PDFs embed only the characters they used. If a digit or letter you typed was never in the document, MythosPDF tells you instead of silently switching fonts. Choosing a different but equivalent wording usually works.
+Can I change a date on a scanned document?
Yes. Click the date on the scan and type the new one; it is redrawn in the scan's own font and ink. The change stays on that line.
