How to make text bold in a PDF
Bold is a separate font in a PDF. When the document already contains the bold version of its font, your bold text uses it. When it doesn't, MythosPDF asks before drawing a thicker outline instead, so you always know what you're getting.
Step by step
- 1Open the PDF in MythosPDF by dropping it on the home page. No account is needed.
- 2Click the line and select the words to bold.
- 3Press the Bold button in the editing bar, or ⌘B / Ctrl B.
- 4If asked about synthetic bold, choose whether to accept it.
- 5Press Enter to save, then Export PDF.

+What is synthetic bold?
When the PDF has no bold version of the font, text can be drawn with a slightly thicker outline to look bold. It's a close match but not the designer's bold font, so we ask first.
+Can I make text italic?
