Change a version number in a TallyPrime printout
Bump the version, revision or draft number of a document. This works on the PDF TallyPrime printed, even when its letters are only drawn shapes.
How to do it
- 1.Drop your Microsoft Print to PDF file into MythosPDF. Drawn letters are turned back into text in a few seconds.
- 2.Type the new version.
- 3.Press Enter to save the line, then Export PDF.
How TallyPrime prints
- • Tally prints through any Windows printer, including Microsoft Print to PDF.
- • Amounts are printed in right aligned columns, often with the rupee symbol.
- • Company details print in a header block at the top of each page.
What that means when you change a version number
- • Letters you type that already appear in the printout, in the same font, are copied from its own letter shapes, so they print identically.
- • Digits are recovered like letters, so a changed number keeps the printed digit shapes and spacing.
- • After export, the recovered text can be selected, copied and searched, which the printout could not do.
What happens to the rest of the page
- • Update it in the header, footer and cover if it appears in several places.
- • Compare with the previous version to list the changes.
Questions people ask
+How do I show what changed between versions?
Use Compare to see both versions side by side.
+Why can't I select text in my Microsoft Print to PDF file?
The driver often draws every letter as a shape instead of writing text. MythosPDF reads those shapes and turns them back into real text before you edit.
+Is it better to reprint from TallyPrime?
If you still have the TallyPrime file and a lot to change, yes. For a quick fix to the PDF you already have, editing it is faster.
