How to do it

How Microsoft Word prints
- • Printing from Word sends the laid out page to the driver, so the PDF looks exactly like the print preview.
- • Microsoft 365 uses Aptos by default; documents from before 2023 usually use Calibri or Times New Roman.
- • Tables print as lines drawn around positioned text.
New letters in Aptos
- • Letters that are already on the page are reused exactly as printed, in the printout's own shapes.
- • Aptos is not an open font. For a letter the printout never used, MythosPDF asks before using the closest open font and tells you which one.

The driver often draws every letter as a shape instead of writing text. MythosPDF reads those shapes and turns them back into real text before you edit.
