Canva resume: make your resume PDF smaller
Some job portals cap uploads. Shrink the file without changing the text. This works on the PDF Canva exported. Each text box reflows inside its own box, and shapes behind the text are left alone.
How to do it
- 1.Open Compress PDF.
- 2.Add your resume.
- 3.Download the smaller PDF.
How Canva writes resume PDFs
- • Designs are exported with subset fonts, many of them Google Fonts.
- • Each text box is placed on its own, often line by line.
- • Shapes, icons and photos are layered around the text.
What happens to the rest of your resume
- • Text stays real text, so it remains searchable.
- • Photos are the usual reason a resume is large.
Questions people ask
+Will compression blur my text?
No. Text is not turned into pictures.
+Is it better to edit in Canva?
