How Google Slides writes PDFs
- • Each slide becomes a page.
- • Google Fonts are embedded as subsets.
- • Text boxes are placed independently.
What that means when you add a line of text
- • Slide text uses open Google Fonts, so any new letter matches exactly.
- • Because Google Slides uses open fonts, any letter you type is set in the exact same font, even if the PDF never contained it.
What happens to the rest of the page
- • New lines belong to existing text blocks and follow their style and spacing.
- • Text boxes on empty parts of the page are not supported.
Questions people ask
+Can I type anywhere on the page?
Not in empty space. New text is added to an existing text block so it matches the document.
+Is it better to edit in Google Slides?
If you have the original Google Slides file and a lot to change, yes. For quick changes to the PDF itself, editing the PDF is faster and keeps it exactly as sent.
