Add a table row in a LibreOffice PDF

Insert a row above or below any row of a table, with borders that match. This works on the PDF LibreOffice exported, so you do not need the original file.

How to do it

  1. 1.Open the PDF exported from LibreOffice in MythosPDF.
  2. 2.Click a cell in the row next to where you want the new one.
  3. 3.Choose Above or Below, fill in the cells, then Export PDF.

How LibreOffice writes PDFs

  • • Export embeds subset fonts, often Liberation or DejaVu.
  • • Paragraphs are written line by line.

What that means when you add a table row

  • • LibreOffice's default fonts are open, and Liberation fonts have the same widths as Arial, Times New Roman and Courier New, so edits match exactly.

What happens to the rest of the page

  • • Borders, shading and dividers of the new row copy the table's own.
  • • Rows below move down to make space; a full page continues on the next.

Questions people ask

+Are totals updated?

No. A PDF does not calculate. Update totals yourself.

+Is it better to edit in LibreOffice?

If you have the original LibreOffice file and a lot to change, yes. For quick changes to the PDF itself, editing the PDF is faster and keeps it exactly as sent.
