Change a version number in a Tally PDF
Bump the version, revision or draft number of a document. This works on the PDF Tally exported, so you do not need the original file.
How to do it
- 1.Open the PDF exported from Tally in MythosPDF.
- 2.Type the new version.
- 3.Press Enter to save the line, then Export PDF.
How Tally writes PDFs
- • Vouchers and invoices are printed to PDF with standard fonts.
- • Amounts are in right aligned columns, often with the rupee symbol.
What that means when you change a version number
- • Amounts keep their alignment. If the font lacks ₹, you choose whether to use a font that has it.
- • Amounts in Tally PDFs are right aligned, so a longer value grows to the left and the column stays straight.
What happens to the rest of the page
- • Update it in the header, footer and cover if it appears in several places.
- • Compare with the previous version to list the changes.
Questions people ask
+How do I show what changed between versions?
Use Compare to see both versions side by side.
+Is it better to edit in Tally?
If you have the original Tally file and a lot to change, yes. For quick changes to the PDF itself, editing the PDF is faster and keeps it exactly as sent.
