How Google Slides writes PDFs

  • • Each slide becomes a page.
  • • Google Fonts are embedded as subsets.
  • • Text boxes are placed independently.

What that means when you change a website address

  • • Slide text uses open Google Fonts, so any new letter matches exactly.
  • • Because Google Slides uses open fonts, any letter you type is set in the exact same font, even if the PDF never contained it.

What happens to the rest of the page

  • • The printed text and the clickable link are separate. Update both.
  • • Addresses are set in the same font as before.

Questions people ask

+Does the printed address have to match the link?

It should. Readers of a printed copy only see the text.

+Is it better to edit in Google Slides?

If you have the original Google Slides file and a lot to change, yes. For quick changes to the PDF itself, editing the PDF is faster and keeps it exactly as sent.
