Edit a sentence in a cover letter PDF
A cover letter is mostly the same from one application to the next. The parts that must change, like the date, the hiring manager, the company and the paragraph about the role, can be edited straight in the PDF. Rewrite a sentence in the middle of a paragraph and let the paragraph rewrap around it.
How to do it
- 1.Drop your PDF into MythosPDF and click the text you want to change.
- 2.Select the sentence and type the new wording.
- 3.Press Enter to save the line, then Export PDF.
What people change in a cover letter
- • Date and recipient address
- • Hiring manager's name in the greeting
- • Company name throughout the body
- • The paragraph on why this role
- • Your signature above your typed name
What happens to the rest of the page
- • The paragraph rewraps inside its own width. If it grows by a line, the text below moves down by exactly one line.
- • Hyphenation and justified spacing follow the paragraph's existing look.
Catch the classic mistake
Sending a letter that still names the previous company is common and costly. After editing, use Compare to see every change and search the text for the old name.
Stays one page
When a paragraph grows, the lines below move down by exactly the extra space. If the letter spills onto a second page, trim a sentence or tighten line spacing slightly.
Questions people ask
+What if the new sentence is longer?
The paragraph rewraps and everything below it moves down evenly. If the page is full, the overflow continues on a new page.
+Can I sign my cover letter?
Yes. Press Sign in the editor and place your signature above your typed name.
