Edit a Microsoft Word catalog PDF
Catalogs are big and change often. Update prices and descriptions in place, swap product photos, and compress the result for email. If it was made in Microsoft Word, you can edit the PDF itself. Word PDFs edit cleanly: runs, bold and italic are recognised, and justified paragraphs rewrap with even spacing. Calibri, Cambria and Aptos are not open fonts; Calibri and Cambria have open clones with identical widths, and Aptos gets the closest open font only with your permission.
How to do it
- 1.Open the catalog PDF exported from Microsoft Word in MythosPDF.
- 2.Click the text you want to change and type.
- 3.Press Enter to save, then Export PDF.
What people change in a catalog
- • Prices
- • Product names and codes
- • Product photos
- • Availability notes
- • Order contact details
How Microsoft Word writes PDFs
- • Save as PDF embeds only the letters used, as subset TrueType fonts.
- • Each run of formatting is written as its own piece of text, and justified paragraphs stretch word gaps.
- • Tables are drawn as lines around positioned text.
Big files
Catalogs full of photos are large. Balanced compression reduces them without touching the text.
