Edit a Microsoft Word product datasheet PDF
Datasheets are spec tables with strict formatting. Update a value, a part number or a revision date without breaking the table. If it was made in Microsoft Word, you can edit the PDF itself. Word PDFs edit cleanly: runs, bold and italic are recognised, and justified paragraphs rewrap with even spacing. Calibri, Cambria and Aptos are not open fonts; Calibri and Cambria have open clones with identical widths, and Aptos gets the closest open font only with your permission.
How to do it
- 1.Open the product datasheet PDF exported from Microsoft Word in MythosPDF.
- 2.Click the text you want to change and type.
- 3.Press Enter to save, then Export PDF.
What people change in a product datasheet
- • Specification values
- • Part and model numbers
- • Revision number and date
- • Certifications list
How Microsoft Word writes PDFs
- • Save as PDF embeds only the letters used, as subset TrueType fonts.
- • Each run of formatting is written as its own piece of text, and justified paragraphs stretch word gaps.
- • Tables are drawn as lines around positioned text.
Units and decimals
Keep units and decimal places consistent; right aligned values stay on their column edge.
Revision control
Compare with the previous revision to publish an accurate change list.
