Change line spacing in a cover letter PDF
A cover letter is mostly the same from one application to the next. The parts that must change, like the date, the hiring manager, the company and the paragraph about the role, can be edited straight in the PDF. Tighten or loosen the space between lines of a paragraph.
How to do it
- 1.Drop your PDF into MythosPDF and click the text you want to change.
- 2.Open the Aa menu and use the Line spacing buttons.
- 3.Press Enter to save the line, then Export PDF.
What people change in a cover letter
- • Date and recipient address
- • Hiring manager's name in the greeting
- • Company name throughout the body
- • The paragraph on why this role
- • Your signature above your typed name
What happens to the rest of the page
- • Spacing changes in half point steps.
- • Content below moves by the total change.
Catch the classic mistake
Sending a letter that still names the previous company is common and costly. After editing, use Compare to see every change and search the text for the old name.
Stays one page
When a paragraph grows, the lines below move down by exactly the extra space. If the letter spills onto a second page, trim a sentence or tighten line spacing slightly.
