Edit a clause in a DocuSign PDF
Reword a clause in a draft agreement while keeping the numbering and layout. This works on the PDF DocuSign exported, so you do not need the original file.
How to do it
- 1.Open the PDF exported from DocuSign in MythosPDF.
- 2.Edit the clause text.
- 3.Compare with the previous draft, then Export PDF.
How DocuSign writes PDFs
- • Completed envelopes carry signatures and a certificate.
- • Editing a completed envelope breaks its validity.
What that means when you edit a clause
- • Edit agreements before they are sent for signature. A completed, signed envelope should not be edited.
What happens to the rest of the page
- • Clause numbers stay where they are; the text rewraps beside them.
- • Use Compare to show the other side exactly what you changed.
Questions people ask
+Can I track changes?
Compare the old and new PDFs to see every change side by side.
+Is it better to edit in DocuSign?
If you have the original DocuSign file and a lot to change, yes. For quick changes to the PDF itself, editing the PDF is faster and keeps it exactly as sent.
