Google Docs resume: add a certification to your resume

List a certification you just earned, under the right heading. This works on the PDF Google Docs exported. Google Docs fonts are open, so any letter you type matches exactly, and invisible line end characters never leave stray spaces.

How Google Docs writes resume PDFs

  • • Download as PDF embeds Google Fonts as subsets.
  • • Lines often end with an invisible zero width space.
  • • Text is positioned word by word.

What happens to the rest of your resume

  • • The new line copies the style of the line above it.
  • • Only list certifications you actually hold.
