Overleaf resume: add a bullet point to your resume

Add a new achievement under a job, with the same bullet, indent and spacing as the rest. This works on the PDF Overleaf exported. Small fixes to bullets, dates and links can be made in the PDF with kerning kept. Large rewrites are cleaner in the source.

How Overleaf writes resume PDFs

  • • pdfTeX embeds Type1 fonts such as Computer Modern or Latin Modern.
  • • Kerning and ligatures are written into each line.
  • • Resume classes draw rules and align dates with precise spacing.

What happens to the rest of your resume

  • • The new bullet copies the list's marker, hanging indent and line spacing.
  • • Everything below moves down to make room, and moves to the next page only if it has to.

Questions people ask

+What if my resume uses drawn bullets?

Bullets drawn as shapes, common in online builders, are recognised and copied like text bullets.

+Is it better to edit in Overleaf?

If you still have the Overleaf version and a lot to change, yes. For a quick fix to the PDF you already sent, editing the PDF is faster.
