Microsoft Word resume: edit a skills table on your resume
Change a cell, or add a row, in a skills or languages grid. This works on the PDF Microsoft Word exported. Word resumes edit cleanly: bold titles, italic dates and bullets are recognised. Calibri and Cambria have open clones with identical widths; Aptos gets the closest open font only with your permission.

How Microsoft Word writes resume PDFs
- • Save as PDF embeds only the letters used, as subset TrueType fonts.
- • Each run of formatting is written as its own piece of text.
- • Tables and rules are drawn as lines around positioned text.
What happens to the rest of your resume
- • Borders and column alignment are kept.
- • Rows can be added above or below from the table menu.
Questions people ask
+Can I delete a row?
Yes, from the table menu; the rows below move up.
+Is it better to edit in Microsoft Word?
If you still have the Microsoft Word version and a lot to change, yes. For a quick fix to the PDF you already sent, editing the PDF is faster.
