Microsoft Word resume: update the phone number on your resume

How to do it

  1. 1.Drop the resume PDF from Microsoft Word into MythosPDF.
  2. 2.Select the old number and type the new one.
  3. 3.Press Enter to save the line, then Export PDF.

How Microsoft Word writes resume PDFs

  • • Save as PDF embeds only the letters used, as subset TrueType fonts.
  • • Each run of formatting is written as its own piece of text.
  • • Tables and rules are drawn as lines around positioned text.

What happens to the rest of your resume

  • • A centred contact line stays centred, and icons beside it move with the text.
  • • If the contact row would run past the margins, you are told instead of the row being squeezed.
